Selecting Field Fence
Field fencing is not a one-size-fits-all product. That’s why Red Brand manufactures over 45 different field fence options. Among the considerations for choosing the proper fence for your property are knot style, wire gauge, spacing, height and roll length. Certain knot styles will work better on hilly terrain, while others will withstand even the most severe snowstorms. The thickness of the wire determines the overall strength and durability of a fence. And, specifications like spacing and height provide options for use on open pastures where predators or escape may be a concern, or around a high-pressure confinement area where the herd is in tight quarters. Finally, after careful planning, the amount of fence needed will determine how many rolls you’ll need to complete the installation.
Woven vs Welded Fence
Woven fencing is the most reliable confinement for cattle and other large animals because the joints are reinforced with steel knots. Welded
wire fabric can't hold up to the pressure,
and can cause injury, fence failure
and escape.

Three different knot styles provide the best alternatives for your specific needs. Whether your primary concern is animal pressure, intruders, terrain or weather conditions, we have the right fence for your application. Special wire crimps expand and contract to adjust to changing
weather conditions.
Spacing
Our field fence comes in a variety of spacing options. Most fencing styles feature graduated spacing to keep unwanted animals out and provide additional security. The pull out ranges from 6" to 16", and you'll find heights from 26" to 49" to suit your needs.
Wire
Standard Red Brand field fence is made with 12-½ gauge wire. However, we manufacture a large variety of fences for both light and heavy-duty applications using both low carbon and high tensile wire. All field fence is galvanized with zinc coating for longevity.
Safety, Security & Durability
The woven mesh is strong enough to withstand the pressure of large herds in the corral. Heavy-duty knots and strong wire mesh provide peace of mind when animals are grazing, and tight spacing near the bottom protects newborns from getting caught or escaping.
